Exhibits: DEPARTMENT 4 – LIVESTOCK & POULTRY
HEALTH REGULATIONS
(General Livestock and Poultry)
All animals must be accompanied by an official health certificate signed by an accredited veterinarian or an approved State or Federally employed Veterinarian. The health certificate should contain the following:
- Name and address of exhibitor.
- Description of each animal including breed, age, sex and registration, tattoo or ear tag numbers.
- A statement by the veterinarian signing the health certificate that the animals listed are not infected with, or have been recently exposed to any communicable disease to the best of his knowledge.
- Information relating to brucellosis. The animals:
- Originate from a Certified Brucellosis-Free Herd*; or
- Originate from a herd not under quarantine and have passed a negative official blood test for brucellosis within 60 days prior to admission to the fair, except that animals under eight months of age, officially vaccinated dairy heifers under 20 months of age and officially vaccinated heifers of the beef breeds less than 24 months of age need not be tested.
- Information relating to tuberculosis. The animals:
- Originate in an Accredited Tuberculosis-Free Herd* which has been tested within the past 12 months or
- Originate in a herd not under quarantine and the animals to be exhibited have passed a negative official test for tuberculosis within 60 days prior to admission to the Fair; except that animals under 8 months of age need not be tested.
- All horses must show proof of negative Coggins’ Test.
POULTRY – Blood tested at the fairgrounds (no fee).
